Previews of Coming Attractions

Hey kids. So the boys have unleashed the ALL NEW ALL DIFFERENT RAID Projects official website. It has all the skinny on what exactly we all do here, the application procedure for potential residents, info on the place itself, past testimonials, news about artists in the shows (like this link to a video of the mini retrospective of Peter Alexander) and photos of Ryan pole vaulting.

Which leaves the RAID blog here left to the task of showing a more intimate look at what all transpires here, beings that I live here and all.

First blog exclusive concerns what we here at RAID will be doing to participate in the upcoming Brewery Art Walk. And my answer is thus:

So do come. Here's a link to the Facebook event page. This will only be up for that weekend, which means that Let There Be Light has finished it's short but sweet run as the inaugural show of RAID 2.0. After the Art Walk, we reopen Nov. 7th for a show by Gustavo Herrera and Spencer Douglas. More details as this develops.

Still want more? Well, howabout a luxury condo filled with the works of your favorite RAIDers and a whole lot more? Done and done. Mark your calenders for....

How dope does that sound? All of the sexiest artists in LA (including me...naturally) in one sexy condo, for one whole sexy weekend. Here, Now, Us is the brainchild of RAID godfathers Max Presneill and Colton Stenke, and is one of many projected projects they have in store, so come out and see why were all so sexy.

Let There Be Light

Hey kids. As you may have heard, the infamous RAID Projects is reopening its doors, and you are invited. For the uninitiated, RAID is an international artist's residency and alternative art space situated just north of downtown Los Angeles, at the Brewery art colony. For the past decade or so it has brought contemporary artists from around the world to live, work and show under its roof. The gallery has been on hiatus for about a year, but now, under the direction of Ryan Callis, Dan Callis, and Dave DeBoer, RAID is back, and the first new opening is this weekend, Oct 3rd.

This blog here, along with other online sources, will feature insights to all things RAID, including resident artists, current and upcoming shows, all members of the RAID family, and anything else I think is worthy. And who am I? I'm Jason Ramos, and I live and maintain a studio at RAID Projects, along with a couple others, and the rotating international residents. Tune in here regularly for more updates, and until then, I'll see you Saturday for Let There Be Light.

Here's a bonus pic of RAID co-director Dave DeBoer in the throes of rehabilitating the main gallery --
